Advent Film Festival

Please join us this Advent Season via Zoom for a mid-week Film Festival Series, “The Power of Music in the Midst of Difficult Times.” This film series is our opportunity to think more deeply about how music “Fills the Night with Music and Light”.
The Zoom meetings are on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm beginning Dec. 2. Please email the church office at info@monroefirst.org for the Zoom link or more information.
The first film is “Defiant Requiem.” You may go to https://www.defiantrequiem.org  to learn more about this film.
As you watch the movies, would you write down any questions or thoughts that come to you…things you would want to discuss together during our meeting? As we commit to taking this journey together, may our hearts be open to the message God has waiting for each of us. A message that offers us hope, love, joy and peace this Advent season.

Community of Need Meals

The Community of Need Meals will continue to be served by a “Grab & Go” style on Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

The members of the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe welcome you!  As you peruse our website, we hope you catch a glimpse of who we are and what we stand for.

Our imposing historic building sits right on Loranger Square, next to the Courthouse and across the Lotus Fountain in downtown Monroe.  It is a beacon to a venerable history:  Our founding pastor was Dr. John Monteith, the first president of the University of Michigan; our facility hosted the wedding of General Custer and provided shelter for the Underground Railroad; and the church itself is older than the state of Michigan.

Such history bears witness today in what we believe and who we are.  We are a vibrant and diverse congregation whose mission is to serve Jesus Christ.  When our worship concludes with the sung benediction, our service in the world and in this city begins.

Come join us for Sunday worship and find out how Christ can change lives and your life!

You may now give online by either paying your pledge or making a one-time financial contribution. This is for your convenience.
